Anniversary Date

Yesterday, August 24th, was Jason and my 5 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe how fast 5 years has flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our wedding in the 104 degree heat of a late August day in Livermore. Ahhhh, the memories. Here is what Jason got me for our anniversary:

Aren't they beautiful?

What a thoughtful husband. My gift to Jason was a surprise for Sunday afternoon. I arranged for my sister to watch Keira, so Jason and I got to go on a real date! All that Jason knew is that we had to leave Tracy by 2:15ish and that we were taking BART. We caught the 3:00 train and we were off. I had done some homework ahead of time and found that our end destination was only 1 mile away from the Montgomery BART station so we decided to walk. BAD IDEA!!! Shoot me if I ever suggest walking anywhere in S.F. again. Part of the problem could be these...

Wait, let me take that back... I think this (and the fact that it was about 85 degrees in the city) could have been the whole problem! UGH. My poor feet are paying today for looking good yesterday. I think I will retire those heels for a while. Since I am not working my daily footwear seams to consist of flip-flops. So anyways... off we went on our 1 mile walk in S.F. Little did I know that about 3/4 of it was up hill! If you know San Francisco well at all, here was our route - Geary to Powell to Green Street a.k.a. Beach Blanket Babylon Blvd. Powell has some VERY steep hills that would be trying to climb in a car let alone in 3 1/2" heels! We FINALLY got to our destination, Beach Blanket Babylon for the 5pm show.

We had a great time. The show was awesome! I highly recommend it! Having lived here most of my life, I can't believe that I have never been to see one of San Francisco's most popular shows. Well, now we have (Jason hadn't been to see it either). After the show we went to Calzone's for dinner. One of our most favorite restaurants in North Beach. Luckily it wasn't too far of a walk or else I don't think I would have made it. Dinner was excellent! Needless to say we took a taxi back to the BART station. In all it was an excellent anniversary!

Fall TV

I can't wait for all of my favorite TV shows to come back this fall. I was curious as to when they were all starting and I found this really cool site that I had to share.

Check it out! I personally can't wait for Survivor: Gabon and Private Practice!

Fun few days...

The last few days have been fun for Keira and I. Jas had a couple of days off owed to him from work, so he turned it in to a 4 day weekend. On Sunday Keira played in the little pool in our back yard, and yesterday we all went to Gilroy Gardens! It was Jason's first visit and I think he liked it. Keira had a GREAT time. She rode a lot of rides and even wanted to get wet in the splash area. Jason upgraded his ticket to a season pass, so we will definitely be going back.

I love these pictures of Keira. I took them in the back yard when she was swimming.

Here are some pictures from Gilroy Gardens...

Me, Jas and Keira on the Merry-Go-Round... check out my fat lip. Keira threw a ball at me yesterday morning and she got me good!!

Keira on the gold fishies... she got to ride ALL by herself. She looked like such a big girl out there.

Abby Dabby Doo

This evening Keira and I went over to Auntie Shari's for dinner. After dinner I let Abby Dabby Doo, my 3 1/2 year old niece, use my "real" digital camera to take some pictures. I taught her which button to push to take the picture and she had a blast! She must have spent 20 minutes going around taking pictures of everything. She was so proud of every picture that she took. She would say "Oh, that's a good one!" every time. Too cute. I think she took around 50 pictures (she's fast!). Here are some of the best ones. :-)

Shari and Aaron

Me! (I think Abby took about 5 pictures of me!)

Keira. Doing what? I'm not sure.

The couch and Sharkie blanket. For this one, Abby goes "Aunt JoJo, please get up off the couch so I can take a picture of the Sharkie blanket?" Hmmm... I'm already being bossed around by a 3 year old ;-)

The wreath in Shari's living room.

I think Abby did a great job taking pictures tonight. Maybe we have a future photographer in the family!

Five years later...

As some of you know, Jason and I are approaching our 5 year wedding anniversary later this month. After all this time, I have never gotten around to doing anything with the invitation from our wedding. My Mom, Sister and some friends all have theirs framed. After seeing them recently it got me thinking that we should do something with ours. I started searching our house for an invitation and believe it or not, could not find one (even after having Jas tear the attic apart). My Mom found one and so the project began. Shari and I threw some ideas around and here is what we finished today. I am really happy with how it turned out. The first picture is of the whole frame and the second picture is a close up so that you can read the wording on the invitation (I think). Hopefully it will find a home and be hung up tomorrow!

If you click on the pictures you can get a closer view so that you can read the invitation.
